Solar Bear - on tour

An extraordinary visual story told without words.

A tasty tale of two lonely old spinsters who make a living catching and smoking fish on a remote shore. Neither of these strange sisters has much luck in capturing the hearts of the sailors and fishermen who find themselves washed up on their shore. Unable to escape the sisters’ romantic pursuits the reluctant suitors come to a rather gruesome end.

Smokies is directed by Associate Artist, Ramesh Meyyappan, a multi-faceted theatre practitioner whose performances mix visual theatre and physical theatre with circus techniques.

Adapted and directed by Ramesh Meyyappan From Mick Jackson’s The Pearce Sisters

Cast: Brian Duffy, Alison McFarlane and Hilde McKenna

Creative team: Neil Warmington, Designer, Laura Hawkins, Lighting Design, Danny Krass, Composer/Sound Design, Al Seed, Movement Specialist and Daniel Livingston, Make Up Design.

This production is accessible to deaf and hard of hearing audiences.
