BAFTA nomination for DYT member

BAFTA nomination for DYT member

DYT member Georgia Raymond has been nominated for a BAFTA New Talent Award for her performance in the short film A Love Divided.

Loosely based on the story of Romeo & Juliet, DYT filmed A Love Divided in July 2014 on location in Glasgow for their Summer Project. The result is a beautiful haunting silent film of the story of two young people from different sides of the river who will not let their differences, or their friends, keep them apart.

Georgia, or GJ as she is known at DYT, plays one of the two young lovers who is deaf and falls in love with the good looking guy from the other gang. He is determined they should be together despite his friends. But things take a turn for the worse during a fight in a local nightclub. GJ,who is 16, has been a member of DYT for a few years and is also a volunteer with Solar Bear Deaf Theatre Club.

The award ceremony will be held in The Arches, Glasgow on Thursday 9 April.
