Deaf Youth Theatre Selected for National Festival of Youth Theatre 2026
We’ve got some exciting news to share…
Deaf Youth Theatre has been selected to perform at the National Festival of Youth Theatre 2026!
This summer, our group will be heading to Inverness to take part in Scotland’s biggest celebration of youth theatre — and we couldn’t be more excited.
What is the National Festival of Youth Theatre?
Run by Youth Theatre Arts Scotland, the festival is the largest gathering of youth theatres in the UK, bringing together young performers from across Scotland (and beyond) to celebrate creativity, collaboration and performance.
Taking place at Eden Court Theatre in Inverness, the festival is packed with:
- Live performances
- Creative workshops
- Social events and activities
- A full festival campsite experience
It’s not just about performing — it’s about learning, connecting, and being part of something much bigger.
What does this mean for Deaf Youth Theatre?
It means we’re going on a road trip to Inverness 🚐
We’ll be:
- Camping alongside other youth theatres from across Scotland
- Taking part in workshops and creative sessions
- Watching and sharing performances
- And of course… performing as part of the festival programme
The festival is designed to be inclusive and accessible, with a strong focus on collaboration and removing barriers — making it an incredible opportunity for our deaf young people to showcase their talent on a national stage.
