TASK 1

Doctor Who had a TARDIS. Marty McFly had a car. What would your time machine be? Is it a drumkit? A sofa? A secret door? A magic watch? A piece of toast?

• Ask someone to film you using your time machine. For example, playing the drums, opening the door, eating the toast. The clip should be short – no more than 10 seconds. Keep it simple – we can add special effects later!

Upload the clip to WeTransfer and send to Felix: felix@solarbear.org.uk by next Monday (25 January). Good luck!

TASK 2: a moment from the past.

1. Film a short clip – of you, back in the past. (About 10-15 seconds.)
2. Think about: Where and when exactly will you go? (E.g meet a Celtic player from 1888? A Paris cafe in the 1920s? A dinosaur from 65 million years ago?)
3. What or who exactly will we see on screen? Will you be in the clip? Anyone else?
4. Any costumes? Props? Special effects?
5. Upload and send to Felix: felix@solarbear.org.uk
6. Any questions – post here!

• Zoom App (you do not need an account)

Creating a video on your mobile phone or camera

We want you to use your mobile phone or camera.

We only have one rule. Please film your video in landscape not portrait, see image below.

If you would like to use a social media platform video app to create an effect. Please, let Felix know and he will give you access to the Solar Bear platform such as Tik Tok. Please, do not make or publish any of the videos for this project on your social media channel(s).

REMEMBER to keep your mobile phone CHARGED!

How do I get the video to you?

We want you to send us your mobile phone/camera videos on a platform called, ‘We Transfer’. This is a service that transfers files across the internet. You will need an email address and a ‘We Transfer’ account to do this.

Potential questions due to bad internet connection

Question 1

What happens if I cannot join the Zoom call or I cannot understand the Zoom meeting because my internet connection is bad?

Don’t worry. We will send you an email telling you want task you need to do. Read that email and if you have any other questions just let us know.

Question 2

What happens if I cannot send Felix my film on ‘We Transfer’ because my internet connection is bad.

Sometimes it can take a long time to send a video on ‘We Transfer’ – don’t worry. However, if you get a message that says, ‘Failed’. Then contact Felix on felix@solarbear.org.uk or Facebook Message solar.bear

I have forgotten what I am meant to do?

Go to the Solar Bear DYT Facebook group. Felix will post up a daily list of what you are to do that day.
