Solar Bear’s Creative Director Jonathan Lloyd and Actor Craig McCulloch will share their recent experiences of ‘Happiness’. This is a project about mental health and well-being, touring to four secondary schools and the Macrobert Arts Centre, co-created with deaf and hearing young people. The session will also focus on ways in which we can all make our work more welcoming and inclusive to deaf participants, and the creative opportunities this brings.
The workshop will be in two parts:
A talk about the various experiences and learning from the Happiness Project; sharing some of the videos made as part of the process.
Open a conversation / lead an exercise, on how people can make their practices more inclusive and welcoming to deaf participants – and the creative opportunities this brings!
