We are delighted to welcome Amy Murray as our new Associate Director and Yuki Neoh as Deaf Youth Theatre Co-Director.
Amy Murray, Associate Director
As Associate Director, Amy will play a key leadership role within Solar Bear, working alongside Yuki to co-lead our Deaf Youth Theatre programme and help shape its future vision. Building on recent successes, including the National Festival of Youth Theatre and Positive Stories for Negative Times, Amy will also contribute to the development of Solar Bear’s wider artistic programme, working closely with our Creative Director & CEO, Jennifer Bates.
As a deaf producer, performer, writer, and director, Amy brings a wealth of experience, creativity and insight. We are excited to see the inspiration and innovation she will bring to the company.
Yuki Neoh, Deaf Youth Theatre Co-Director
We are equally thrilled to welcome Yuki to the team. One of the most recent graduates of the BA Performance programme, Yuki has already built a strong connection with Solar Bear through our Solar Reels Film School.
A Scottish-based Singaporean actor, director and facilitator working across stage and screen, Yuki’s work is shaped by her Deaf perspective. Through her practice, she explores new ways of reimagining access, collaboration and performance.
A shared passion
What Amy and Yuki have in common is their commitment to supporting emerging and established deaf talent. Drawing on their Deaf identity, language and lived experience, both are passionate about empowering young storytellers, building creative confidence and ensuring deaf voices are proudly represented across the arts.
